Biography:

A native of Indianapolis, Robert D. King, Jr. graduated from Brebeuf Preparatory High School. He thereafter graduated summa cum laude from Boston College's Honors Program. While at Boston College, Mr. King was selected from a pool of Honors Program applicants to study for one year at Oxford University, in Oxford, England. Mr. King's collegiate studies also have taken him to Spain's National University, the Colégio de España, in Salamanca, Spain, where he became proficient in Spanish.

After college, Mr. King was selected as a Lyndon Baines Johnson Congressional fellow and worked for then-U.S. Representative Andy Jacobs, Jr. He earned a Master's degree from Utah State University. He thereafter enrolled in law school at Indiana University School of Law in Bloomington, Indiana. In law school, Mr. King was an associate editor of the Federal Communications Law Journal, as well as a member of the American Trial Lawyers Association trial team.

After law school, Mr. King worked defending the interests of insurance companies. Finding this work unfulfilling, and armed with the knowledge he acquired as an insurance defense attorney, Mr. King opened his own law firm. His motivation in doing so was to do whatever he could to see people treated fairly by the legal system, no matter their background, status, or financial means. Mr. King's practice today focuses on representing those wrongfully injured in accidents. He also devotes a portion of his practice to representing those accused of crimes. In the past, Mr. King served as lead litigation counsel for the likes of Dell Computers, MGM Grand Casino, Pepper Construction Company of Indiana, SunDek of Indiana, and Rescue Rooter.
